I like to color the background a little sandy yellow or tannish brown, which looks like old parchment.
The flowers give a lot of opportunity for bright colors. 
The paisley shapes can be any color; the letters are opened up enough to color in. 
I personally prefer a dark color for the letters, but not black.

I hope you enjoy coloring this picture as much as I enjoyed drawing it. I know you will have a wonderful time with it.
