Free Easter Print and Color Page, Luke 23:34, Words of Christ on the Cross

I am delighted to share my free Easter printable coloring page with Luke 23:34, "Father forgive them," scripture.  

This printable coloring page is one of the words of Christ from the cross. It is a favorite verse that gives us a moment to reflect on the sacrifice of Christ on Good Friday. It is a fantastic example of forgiveness. You can say his last thoughts were about us. It is remarkable that his words are essentially a prayer.  

It is an excellent way to memorize the scripture by coloring in the letters to the verse, and when it is done, this is a beautiful reminder of Jesus' teaching.

Luke 23:34 says,

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.." Luke 23:34.

THE ART

I worked for hours trying to draw the silhouettes of the figures on the crosses. I wanted to really show christ on the cross but not make it too emotional for young people. But at the same time, I wanted to show the hope of Christ's sacrifice, so I used the landscape and the sun's rays. I hope you can use this coloring page.

COLORING THE PICTURE

You might find that colored pencils or markers work best. There are a lot of ways that you can color this. The letters to the Bible verse are big enough to fill in. There is a landscape with Christ on the cross between the two thieves.
