I drew this as a feature in the children's activity magazine. It looked like it would make a perfect stand-alone coloring page, so I made some changes for the larger areas. It was a drawing that took a lot of tracing to make right.

There are a lot of ways this can be colored.

• I like to color the background pale, like parchment, so a soft tan or light beige.
• I avoid black for the lettering and often use blue, or brown, purple, or something interesting. 
• The flowers can be a lot of different colors. 
• The border frames can be a completely different color that contrasts.

The original art is from the children's activity mini-magazine that I make for the kids in church each week. I liked how it turned out so much that I created a stand-alone coloring page. I had to make a few changes, so it is not precisely the same. I used a computer to create the letters because I am not good with calligraphy.

This picture can be beautiful when you color it. Use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils to get into the more delicate areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor pencils because they are brilliant and blend well. You can find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby stores. You can usually find coupons for good discounts. 

There are lots of stars to color in.

The border can be something different than the other colors. 

The letters can be colored in; I like to use something besides black for the words.

I really wanted to draw this verse for the kids in church. I wanted to do a few coloring pages like stained glass windows for the kids. You can have a lot of fun coloring in the shapes.  

COLOR THE PICTURE

The letters are opened so you can color them in. I think that it is best to use something besides black because it is boring that way, try blue, purple, lavender or red. The shapes can be all kinds of colors. 

Kids like to color with crayons, but if you try colored pencils, you will be able to get into the smaller areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor. Prismacolor pencils can be found at Staples, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby. (I always look for coupons online.)

THE VERSE 

This is a well-known scripture. It is from one of the letters of the Apostle John. It is an inspirational verse and gives us a lot to think about and to be thankful for. It teaches a simple truth about God. 

1 John 4:8  says, Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8.

MY COLORING PICTURE ART 

I made this because I was asked to create some coloring pages for a special needs families weekend camp. These needed to be simple and easy for younger people who have different physical challenges. I started by drawing parts of this by hand using a marker and ruler. I had to use an artist lightbox to help me make tracings and to put it all together. Then I scanned it into the computer. Sometimes what looked good on paper looks bad on the screen, so I had to enlarge many things after drawing them. The words were generated by using the computer and some basic artist software. I hope you like it.

The picture below was created in word and is a JPEG, working on most computers and printers.  It was designed for USA letter size paper. If you are using a different paper, you will need to change your program's settings. Sometimes people have trouble making it print and if you do, then CLICK HERE see my HOW-TO-PRINT page for some suggestions. I have created an updated image in PDF, and you can find it below.

MY ART

I spend hours creating coloring pages like this; I do it because I love God's Word, and I hope they are a blessing to you. 

You would think that such a simple picture was an easy project, but in fact, I had to trace this about four times before I was happy with it; then, after scanning it into the computer, I spent another hour cleaning things up and making little changes. It was a surprising amount of work, but it turned out very nice. I hope you like it. 

There are still a lot of things that you can do to make this into an engaging and beautiful picture. 

• There are hearts that can be colored pink or red. 
• There is a ribbon of flowers that can be many different colors. 
• The letters are opened and can be colored. 
• The frame bar can be a contrasting color. 
• The background can be another hue to bring the lettering out.

I spent a long time designing this coloring page. I wanted to put something in the corners and thought that hearts would be good since the verse was about love. I put a scene in the lower corner with a cross in it because we see the love of God demonstrated on the cross. There are a lot of flowers and fun things to color around the border. 

You can have a lot of fun coloring this picture. 

• The letters are opened enough to color in with fine-tipped markers or pencils. 
• Of course, the hearts can be red, pink, or some other color. 
• The many different flowers give a lot of room to be creative with varying patterns of color. 
• A ribbon intertwined in the flowers is almost hidden, but it gives an area for contrasting colors.  
• The frame bars can be another place for contrasting colors.  
• The background can be colored, too.

MY ART

I spent several hours drawing the art for this picture. I had to trace the sheep and the cross over a couple of times. The flowers around the border originated from another project, and I made changes by adding ribbon to provide more areas for different colors. I worked on it for a long time, but I had fun, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.  I hope you like it.  

COLOR THE PICTURE

You can do a lot to make this into a beautiful picture. There are many flowers around the border, in all kinds of bright colors.  There is a cross in a landscape in the bottom right corner and a lamb in the top left corner.  The frame bars can be a contrasting color.  You can fill in the letters. Don't overlook the power of a pale background hue.

COLOR THIS PICTURE

There are a lot of ways it can be colored. I would suggest using a dark color for the lettering but not black because that is boring.  Use a pale color for the background. The hearts are nice if they are not too bright but a pink to contrast with the green of the vines and leaves. Do not forget the frame bars they can be an entirely different color.

This verse is a great test of whether or not you have God in your life. It is straightforward: If you have the same love for people that God has, then it is proof that you have trusted Jesus as your Savior and Lord. This scripture reminds us that we must be born of God. Jesus spoke about being Born Again in John 3; every Christian should become familiar with it.

I like to color the background a light blue and leave the dove white. There are a lot of opportunities to
be creative with the flowers and the borders. There are a lot of places where you can add a splash of color like the image at the bottom and the frame bars. The hearts are a good place for red or pink and the flowers can be nice if they are blue or lavender. I know you will have a wonderful time with it.

Here is a verse that is so clear that it cannot be argued with.  It says we are sinners, and if we deny that fact, we are deceiving ourselves.  It says people who deny their sins do not have the truth.

COLOR THE PICTURE

I like to color the background a light hue and the letters a medium-dark hue. The embellishments around the border and the artwork at the bottom provide numerous opportunities for creativity.

Kids like to color with crayons, but if you try colored pencils, you can get into the smaller areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor. Prismacolor pencils can be found at Staples, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby. (I always look for coupons online.)

ABOUT MY ART

I drew this for the kids in our Awana Bible club in church. This coloring page is one of the most popular Bible verses. It is that promise that forgiveness of sin is available to the humble believer.  It says we must confess our sins to God because it uses the word "He."  It also teaches that he forgives us not because of our deeds but because of His own faithfulness and justice.  It assures us that His forgiveness is complete and nothing is left over for us to pay for or worry about. 

COLOR THE PICTURE

There are a lot of ways that you can color This picture. If you use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils like my favorite, Prismacolor, you can get into the smaller areas. You can find Prismacolor pencils at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and there are usually coupons available online.  There are lots of flowers and vines to color green. There is a little cross on a landscape that can be fun to color in. There is a heart in a corner that allows brightening the picture up with some red. The letters can be any dark color; I recommend doing the background around the letters first in a pastel warm color to contrast with all the cool greens of the leaves.

I draw these coloring pages because I love God's Word, and I hope they are a blessing to you. 

I had to trace the letters about 4 times before I was happy with how they looked. The clouds were easy but I still had to trace them twice. I could have done something with hearts but I thought that was being done a lot by others and so I wanted this coloring page to be special for the kids. If your kids like stickers use star stickers from the office supply store and let the kid stick shiny stars on the star shapes in the drawing.  

There are many things a young artist can do to have fun with this picture. 

The lettering is large to give ample room to fill in. 

The stars and clouds can be warm hues, and the background blues, lavenders, and violets. 

There is a sun and the sunbeams that can be yellow, orange, and red. 

For extra fun, use sticky shiny stars on the stars.
