I had a few days where I couldn't work on this issue, and so on the last day, I used all my free time to wrap it up. I couldn't have finished it without the help of my wife, son, and daughter, who did tons of editing and helped with puzzles.

ISSUE 140

In this issue are a lot of fun puzzles for kids of all ages. I think my favorite might be the code-breaker. It uses a favorite scripture that is a more extended verse. My daughter suggested that I give some extra clues to avoid being too frustrating. I did, and I hope you have fun with it.

I am delighted with the find the difference activity. It caused me a lot of anxiety as I tried to take something as simple as a sandal and make two versions that were the same yet had six differences.

I hope the puzzles and activities do not cause you to overlook the scriptures they are intended to illustrate. Almost every activity has a question for discussion so that you can have a deeper conversation about God's Word with your kids. And I hope this activity booklet will be a tool you can use to share Christ with your kids.

Free Job 9:10 Printable Bible Verse Coloring Page

This is a free printable coloring page for Job 9:10.

There are not a lot of coloring pages that you can use with the book of Job. This is a beautiful Bible verse! It really makes you want to worship God. I like the way the ERV puts it. I did the original drawing for a Children's church printable that I make every week. It turned out so lovely and simple that I thought it would be something a more extensive audience would appreciate, so I re-formatted the drawing for the coloring page. I hope you like it.

This picture can be beautiful when you color it. Use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils, and then you can get into the more delicate areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor pencils because they are so brilliant and blend so well. You can find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby stores. You can usually find coupons for good discounts. There are many shapes to color in, so it looks like a stained glass window. The letters can be colored in, but pick one color, or they will get lost in the background. I like to use something besides black for the words.

The most challenging puzzle to create was the Grid Puzzle. It is like a crossword logic puzzle, where the clues are random letters in the puzzle grid. I had to redesign it several times to make it work properly.

I wonder how many of my pastor friends can correct the Fun Quiz. It is all about the number seven. It is incredible how many times the number seven comes up in the Bible!

I think my favorite is the first coloring picture, Philippians 4:4. I drew it a few years ago and thought it would work well in this issue. It has a lot of flowers around the border and is beautiful when colored with nice pencils or fine-tipped markers.

I hope the Bible reading bookmark craft encourages children and families to read the Bible every day in a meaningful way. The bookmark has six daily readings (the seventh day is for catch-up reading). And some general observation questions. Cut it out and fold it in half to use it to read the Bible with the kids.

This is a scripture of inspiration and hope. The Bible uses the image of the mountains to suggest strength and nearness to heaven. The second verse elevates all these ideas by calling the Lord the Maker of Heaven and Earth; therefore, He made the mountains that provide help and comfort.

MY ART

I drew this originally for the Bible activity booklets that I make each week for the kids. I liked it so much that I have been modifying the art for other coloring pages. I love to draw mountains and landscapes so this is a favorite scripture to illustrate. I had to sketch the landscape several times before I was happy with it.

ABOUT ISSUE 138

I am excited about how nicely this BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY issue turned out. It was a lot of fun stuff for all ages!

The ideas just kept coming, and I had to do a lot of editing to make it all work together.

This week is another expanded issue with two additional pages. I hope to find time to make these with the extra material because they give more opportunities to reach hearts.

DOT-TO-DOT FUN

In this issue, I like the most the dot-to-dot activity with the lilies of the field verse. It may be a little challenging for tiny fingers, but older children will appreciate it.

One of the hardest to create was the codebreaker. I almost regret it because the passage is long, making the puzzle look intimidating. The solution to breaking the code is simple, and I gave plenty of clues. (It is a slip code- all the numbers slip over the same amount for each letter).

READ THROUGH THE BIBLE

I am committed to the Bible reading bookmark craft feature. This week is the second. I hope it encourages children and families to read the Bible every day. It is only a few verses, but it is a start for some.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Almost every activity and puzzle has an open-ended discussion question. I hope these questions will be used by the Holy Spirit to start conversations between the kids and adults.

ABOUT ISSUE 137

I am delighted with how this issue of BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY turned out.

17 ACTIVITIES IN THIS ISSUE (only in subscribers version, the free version has 13).

This week is an experiment with some new features. It is more like a magazine or booklet than a bulletin. I hope that the expanded version will appeal more than a simple bulletin-type printable.

Starting this week I am adding another coloring picture. I hope younger children will engage with it. I know my coloring pictures can be challenging to little fingers.

NEW DOT-TO-DOT

I have always wanted to add a dot-to-dot activity. So I designed a simple Sword of the Spirit dot-to-dot page.

READ THROUGH THE BIBLE BOOKMARK

I want to encourage kids and families to read the Bible daily. Starting with this issue, I began a Bible reading bookmark craft feature. Each week's bookmark will have passages to read and mark off. I modified a three-year Bible reading plan. However, I have dedicated one day as a make-up day; so that it will be maybe a four-year plan.

The BREAK THE CODE puzzle can be very frustrating to create.

For some puzzles, I go back through my files and find a code I made before and recycle it, but I think that kids are smart and remember the codes, so I am creating a new code each week, or at least revising the code with a lot of different things. This week the code is primarily shapes and symbols. I had to redo it a few times before it was satisfactory. The verse is short, so I gave a few extra clues.

ABOUT ISSUE 136

I am delighted with how this issue of BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY turned out. It was a lot of work. As they say, success is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. I spent a lot of time making the ideas for the puzzles work correctly. There is a lot of effort in getting everything to look right while fitting in the space and not looking cluttered.

My favorite in this issue is Proverbs 15:8 coloring page. It is simple, and I hope it has a positive quality.

I had to design the codebreaker puzzle several times before it was to my liking. It is intended for older kids, they will be challenged by it, but they should be able to solve the puzzle with the clues provided.

The hidden letter puzzle was a lot of work since each letter was in a text box and placed individually. I am glad to create these because kids like the hidden picture activity.

Issue 135 contains the following activities and scriptures:

There is a quiz about the armor of God and a find the difference picture.
There is a coloring picture that illustrates Proverbs 15:8.
The shape sort puzzle uses Matthew 11:28-29.
The code breaker puzzle uses Luke 9:23.
The first word search is for 2 Timothy 2:15.
The second coloring picture illustrates 1 John 5L12.
The crossword uses Isaiah 55:10-11
The Explorer's Challenge uses Matthew 7:21.
The scrambler uses Proverbs 3:5-6.
The hidden letter puzzle uses Acts 4:12
The second word search uses 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
The maze is for Proverbs 18:10.
The drop word puzzle is John 10:9.
The memory verse card craft is for Matthew 5:9.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

I tried to give a lot of thought to the "Let's talk about it" questions. At least one is a clear opportunity to discuss the need for salvation. Others cover challenging topics about following and serving Jesus.

I love to draw mountains and landscapes, so this is a favorite scripture to illustrate. I had to sketch the landscape and the clouds several times before being happy with it.

There are many fun things you can do when you color this picture. I recommend using colored pencils like Prisma pencils that you can purchase at any art store, like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

The mountains can be greys and browns.
The trees can be more than one hue of green with the darker hues in the foreground, so the image has a sense of distance.
Try using a dark blue for the higher part of the sky and blend it into a light blue for the lower areas near the horizon.
The rays of the sunrise can be yellow or pale blue, or you can just leave them white.
The characters can be black but think about blue, red, lavender, or violet.
The frame bars can be different colors that are not in the landscape for contrast.

There are many ways that this picture can be colored.

The sky can be dark blue near the top and lighter near the horizon.

The rays of the sunrise can be yellow or leave them white.

The clouds do not need to be only white You can add some of the warm sunrise colors to it/

The mountains can be grey and brown with purple, lavender, and violet shadows.

There are ranges of trees that can be different hues of green.

The lake in the foreground can be one of the blues of the sky.

The letters can be any color; consider using something besides black like blue, lavender, red, or brown.

The frame bars can be another color for contrast.

ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS ISSUE

The holidays rushed on me, and all the activities filled the spaces on my calendar. I could not have this ready in time for the many holiday celebrations. Nevertheless, it is ready now for those who can use it for Christmas Eve celebrations and last-minute gatherings.

This Christmas celebration edition has three coloring pictures instead of two and two crosswords instead of one. I left out the "brainy" older kids' puzzles to give it more of a holiday feel.

As usual, the word search puzzles kept me busy reworking them several times to make the words fit without creating unwanted words.

I am delighted with the coloring pictures but worry that those who use crayons may find the spaces too restrictive. They will look beautiful if they are colored using pencils.

Like the other activity booklets, I designed this with questions for discussion attached to almost all the puzzles and activities.

These Bible verse activity booklets are created in the spirit of Isaiah 55:10-11, which promises that God's word will not return empty but will accomplish His purpose.

ABOUT ISSUE 135

I am excited to have finished another issue of BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY. I am glad to create these because I believe in God's Word; I believe that it is living and has the power to change lives and give new life.

I had a good time creating the psalm 121:1-2 Coloring picture. It is a favorite verse for its beauty and the profound expression of faith. I am surprised that I haven’t done one for this verse before.

I had to do both word search puzzles several times before they were free of mistakes and accidental words.

I chose the scripture for the hidden letter puzzle from Revelation because it is one of those we do not talk about much. It fit with my desire to lift up Jesus faithfully in this little magazine.

I could not make space in every section to include a discussion question. Some of the activities were too large on the page. I will try to plan better and give you more in the future. But do not worry, there are still many questions, and you would need a lot of time to talk out the ones included.

Issue 135 contains the following activities and scriptures:

There is a quiz using scriptures about mountains in the Bible.

There is a coloring picture that illustrates Psalm 121:1.

The shape sort puzzle uses Galatians 4:4-5.

The code breaker puzzle uses Luke 9:57-58.

The first word search is for Hebrews 4:12.

The second coloring picture illustrates Psalm 91:1.

The crossword uses James 1:22.

The Explorer’s Challenge uses Matthew 20:26-28.

The scrambler uses Psalm 19:7.

The hidden letter puzzle uses Revelation 22:16.

The second word search uses John 1:29.

The maze is for Galatians 5:14.

The drop word puzzle is Proverbs 22:1.

The memory verse card craft is for Romans 8:28.
