Psalm 48:1 is a wonderful scripture of praise and worship. It is one of the most simple phrases of worship and one of the deepest truths in the Bible. The worship of God is so foundational to our faith but so overlooked. In the first chapters of the Bible, we see Cain and Able bringing offerings of worship, and then worship fills the scriptures all the way through until the end, where we see the multitudes of angels and the redeemed praising God. Could there be a better picture of how the beginning and the end of all we are is about worship?
When you color the verse, it helps you remember it, and as you color the letters, it helps you meditate on the meaning of God's Word.

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain. Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon, is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King. God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress. Psalm 48:1-3

I am very excited that someone asked me to create this coloring page for their children's church, and I am thankful that it has caused me to think more about the importance of worship in our lives. I hope that you like this coloring page. You can use it in a bible class, VBSm Good news club or Awanas club. I worked hard on it, and it took a lot of adjusting and many little fixes to get it right.

COLOR THE PICTURE
There are a lot of flowers to color around the border. If you use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils like my favorite, Prismacolor, you can get into the smaller areas. You can find Prismacolor pencils at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and there are usually coupons available online. The letters are opened up to color them; consider using dark blue or dark brown for the words. The frame bars can be colored with a contrasting hue. The background can be a different and lighter color.
