THE VERSE

This verse strongly encourages us to give and receive kindness and compassion. It gives the example of Christ, whose forgiveness was complete and sacrificial. He even prayed for God to forgive us as he died on the cross for our sins. Christ's example is a challenge. Anyone who claims to be his follower and lacks forgiveness the way he does must reexamine the presence of Christ in their lives. 

Ephesians 4:32 says, 

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32.
