It takes me hours to draw these coloring pages, but I make them because I love God's Word, and I hope they are a blessing to you. They are free, and you are welcome to print as many of my coloring pages as you want.

I feel that I had to be very creative with this coloring page. I traced the vines and flowers over and over until I was happy with it. I wanted to do something different from my other Bible verse coloring pages, so I drew a landscape with the cross and added it to the design. Then I had to trace it all over again. I scanned it into my computer, added the words, and cleaned up the drawing. I hope you can use this printable. It is free for you.

There are a lot of ways that you can color this.

The letters are big enough to fill in.
There are flowers and vines and hearts to color around the border.
There are frame bars that can be colored in.
The cross can be browns and greys.
Do not forget to color the background but not too dark.

It is a fantastic example of forgiveness. You can say his last thoughts were about us. Remarkably, his words are essentially a prayer.

THE ART

I worked for hours trying to draw the silhouettes of the figures on the crosses. I wanted to show Christ on the cross but not make it too emotional for young people. At the same time, I wanted to show the hope of Christ's sacrifice, so I used the landscape and the sun's rays.

It is an excellent way to memorize the scripture by coloring in the letters to the verse, and when it is done, this is a beautiful reminder of Jesus' teaching.

COLORING THE PICTURE

You might find that colored pencils or markers work best. There are many ways to color this. The letters to the Bible verse are big enough to fill in. Between the two thieves, there is a landscape with Christ on the cross.

Kids like to color with crayons, but if you try colored pencils, you will get into the smaller areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor. Prismacolor pencils can be found at Staples, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby. (I always look for coupons online.)
