I hope you enjoy issue 160 of BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY.

Sometimes a project seems to come together on its own without much effort needed. And you look at it and think, "Wow, that was fun to create!" But this was not one of those times for me. Every puzzle and activity seemed to fail and needed to be redone multiple times. I worked on this issue into the late night and then awoke early to print copies to review during my lunch break on my day job. 

I'm not complaining. I want you to know how committed I am to giving you a little something that you can use in your ministry and family. I hope it is a true blessing to you.

There are so many things in BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY that I am excited about. The weekly Bible reading bookmark is such a simple device. But I do not think that means it is not meaningful; it can be a way for a person to develop the habit of daily Bible reading.

Another thing that I am excited about is the Bible Memory verse craft. It is like a trading card. Cut it out, color it and paste the two sides together and use it to help learn a verse.  

I am delighted with the first coloring page. It is a beautiful verse, and I hope it inspires the younger artists.

This issue has scriptures we do not often contemplate, such as the little story of Obed-Edom, (Featured in the subscriber's only version) who was blessed to receive the ark into his home: and the testimony of the Apostles in 1 John 1:1-2. Of course, there are favorites like the coloring page with the Lord, my shepherd verse from Psalm 23:1. 

I hope the discussion questions give teachers and parents a point of departure to engage the kids in spiritual discussions.

The hardest was the find the difference puzzle,(in the subscriber's version). It is a simple drawing of a ship blown on a stormy sea. The challenge was to recreate the picture a second time with six subtle changes. 

I hope the coloring picture on the cover is not too challenging. I ran out of ideas for something fresh, so I pulled one from my blog of coloring pages. It was initially designed as an adult coloring picture. Older kids will be able to color it. If they use colored pencils, it will look beautiful. 

The code breaker puzzle uses symbols instead of letters. I wanted to give good clues, but it is hard to guess how many clues will be enough and not just give all the answers. I changed it a few times and think most people will easily break the code. 

Almost all activities have a discussion question to give teachers and parents a teaching moment.

This issue has 19 fun activities for kids of all ages in the subscriber's version. The free version has 15 fun activities for kids of all ages. The subscriber's version has two additional pages: one sheet of paper that prints double-sided, like the other three. 

I am happy with the word search puzzles. I tried to squeeze in as many words from the respective bible verses as possible. The word searches were frustrating to create because I kept forgetting where the hidden words were and had to keep solving the puzzles as I was making them!

I am thrilled with the Find The Hidden Letter activity. It was a lot of work, but it came together nicely.  

Most of the activities have a discussion question, so teachers and parents have a teaching moment.

UPDATE: I published this issue in 2022. It is stil available through the link below. BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY has had a facelift since this was published and if you want to see the newer viersion you can do so at the link below or on my Patreon page. 

 I am happy with the coloring pictures. The subscriber's version has three coloring pictures. One picture resembles a stained glass window, and another resembles an old manuscript page. The third one is straightforward for the younger children. 

It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to create new art for the Dot-To-Dot and Find The Difference activities. The Find The Difference puzzle (subscriber's version) didn't make it in this issue. Instead, I have a Bible story illustration for the parable of the lost sheep. Other activities include Word Search activities, a maze, a word scramble, and various puzzles suitable for kids of all ages. 

I want to offer lesser-appreciated Bible verses, not just the same themes that can be found elsewhere.    

I am happy with the Code Breaker puzzle (found in the subscriber's version). It looks complicated, but the many words are repeated, and there are a lot of vowels that help make the code easy to break. 

I included a discussion question for each activity to help teachers and parents have a teaching moment.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE

It is full of fun Bible verse activities for all ages.  

I think the coloring pages offer something for everyone. One looks like a stained glass window with a bit of surprise, another looks like an ancient illuminated manuscript, and the third is a fun coloring picture with flowers and birds.

The find the difference puzzle uses the story of Elijah hearing the voice of the lord as a gentle whisper. I sketched Elijah as he covered his face with his cloak. I prefer to make six changes between the two pictures, but there are still 4 differences between the two pictures to find.  

Some activities use the scriptures to share the gospel, like 1 John 5:12, Acts 16:31, John 1-10-13, and 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Most of the activities have an accompanying discussion question to prompt teachers and parents to engage children.

ABOUT MY ART

I make a children's activity mini-magazine for the kids in church each week. I drew a picture of this verse for it, and  I liked how it turned out so much that I created a stand-alone coloring page. I had to make a few changes, so it is not precisely the same. I had to trace the design several times before it worked out. The letters were created using a computer program because I am not good with calligraphy.

COLOR THE PICTURE

You can have a lot of fun coloring this picture. 

• The sky can be light blue near the mountains and darker blue higher up. 
• The distant mountains can be lavender or purple like predawn. 
• The rays of light can be blank or use yellow.
• The letters can be something besides the color black, like blue, brown, purple, or red. 
• The foreground landscape can be lots of greens. 
• If you use markers or colored pencils, you can get into the delicate areas. 

I hope you have a lot of fun coloring this picture! Make a masterpiece!

There are lots of fun activities, pictures to color, and puzzles to do for all ages. 

The memory verse card craft is the second in a short series for 1 Corinthians 13. Each week the memory verse will be the next one in the chapter until the entire chapter is done. 

I think the Dot to Dot with Jonah is cute. The problem is to make an activity that will fit in the narrow rectangular space of a bi-folded page in landscape format. It turned out very nicely. I know the little kids will love it! 

It was impossible to include a "Let's talk about it" question for each activity. However, most have a discussion question for teachers and parents to engage the children with.

It was a busy and tiring week for me and a struggle to put this together for you, but I am glad to do it. There are scriptures about thankfulness and Christian love in this issue, and four verses are ones we use to invite people to Christ. I pray that the Holy Spirit blesses these seeds as they are planted in the hearts of your children. 

This issue is full of fun activities. The coloring pages turned out nicely. I am thrilled with the pictures of the two priests blowing the trumpets. It is a simple line drawing but has character. Can you find the five differences?

The numbered letter activity for Matthew 7:26-27 was so hard to do on the computer and make it work out correctly. I had to redo it many times.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE

There are many verses about God’s nearness, comfort, and blessing in this issue; some verses are commands to love, and a few help us understand the gospel of Christ’s redeeming sacrifice.

I did not have the usual time to work on this issue because I was out of town, but the Lord put together a wonderful mini-magazine despite my absence from the drawing board. Some of the puzzles are heritage pieces from a few years ago, but I gave them some polish and freshened them up. 

The coloring pictures are lovely. I put in tons of hearts and flowers; after all, it is spring, and I felt inspired by the change of the season. 

As always, there are the "let's talk about it" questions that give teachers and parents a prompt for discussions.

COLOR THE PICTURE

This picture can be beautiful when you color it. Use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils, and then you can get into the more delicate areas. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor pencils because they are so brilliant and blend so well. You can find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby stores. You can usually find coupons for good discounts. There are lots of flowers to color in. The ribbon can be something different than the flower colors. The letters can be colored in; I like to use something besides black for the words.

This picture was part of the Bible activity booklet I make each week. I liked how it turned out so much that I created a stand-alone coloring page. I made a few changes so it is not exactly the same. I had to trace the design several times before it worked out. The letters were created using a computer program because I am not that good with calligraphy.

You can find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and you can usually find coupons for good discounts.  You can color the letters blue or brown or purple; I like to avoid black letters since it is boring.

These are free, but it takes me hours to create these activity booklets. I make them because I love God's Word, and I hope they are a blessing to you. You are welcome to print as many of my activity booklets as you need.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE

Some of my favorite things in this issue are the illustrations I created for it. I wanted to do something with the Mark 2:17 verse, but it is a long passage for this space, so I minimally designed the illustrating art. It will be engaging for many. 

The word search puzzles take a surprising amount of time to design, and I try to fit too many words into the puzzle from the verse, but I've had positive comments about them in the past, so I hope you enjoy them.  

I think one of my favorite puzzles is the dot to dot. I always get stuck on this. I want to do something that will be more than just a Bible story picture. A verse on God as a refuge presented itself, and I happened to have something that I could adapt. I hope you like it.

You can color the letters blue or brown or purple; I like to avoid black letters since it is boring.
