ABOUT THE VERSE,

This verse gives clear guidance about the subject of giving. It tells us that we each are responsible for making a decision to give. This decision to give is very personal and must be a deep conviction. We must be careful not to give out of the wrong motives but out of a joyful and cheerful heart. Our motivations must be right before God. Our giving is for His pleasure and not our own benefit.

    

2 Corinthians 9:7 says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7.

I often spend hours drawing these coloring pages, but I do it because I love God's Word, and I hope they are a blessing to you. 

I had to design each element separately and combine them into the picture. I then had to trace each part individually several times before being happy with them, and then I had to trace the entire project as a unit. It took all evening.

I had a lot of fun drawing the little flowers on the border, but the ribbon was a lot of extra work. The little cross in the corner was a nice touch that connected the artwork to the verse.

COLOR THIS PICTURE

There are a lot of ways it can be colored. I would suggest using a dark color for the lettering but not black because that is boring.  Use a pale color for the background. The hearts are nice if they are not too bright but a pink to contrast with the green of the vines and leaves. Do not forget the frame bars they can be an entirely different color.

This verse is a great test of whether or not you have God in your life. It is straightforward: If you have the same love for people that God has, then it is proof that you have trusted Jesus as your Savior and Lord. This scripture reminds us that we must be born of God. Jesus spoke about being Born Again in John 3; every Christian should become familiar with it.

I used other coloring pages for inspiration since I draw so many that I can't keep coming up with new ideas. But it still took about 4 hours since I did a lot of tracing and changing things a little here and a little there. I wanted to put the cross in the picture for the art because it is part of the message.

This is a printable activity of the scripture, often called the Great Commission. It is the verse that tells us to go make disciples.  It teaches that we are to help all people follow Jesus no matter who they are, or where they are. It uses the word disciples, but we act like it says, make converts.  We sometimes think that once we get someone to come to Christ, we are done, but that is where the best part begins- seeing them grow in the Lord.

I hope you have a lot of fun coloring this picture. It has a lot of water designs and an ocean scene at the bottom to color. Younger children can use crayons on this but I recommend that you use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils like my favorite, Prismacolor, to get into the smaller areas. You can buy Prismacolor pencils at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. (Look for coupons online.) The letters are big enough to color in.

THE VERSE

This is a Bible verse of comfort and hope.  It tells us that though we give God reasons to be angry with us, He sees our sorrow and is willing to give us forgiveness and blessing. We may go through the night in grief because of our sins, but he is ready to forgive.  The poetry of this scripture is beautiful; it says that we can look forward to a time of rejoicing. The morning makes you think about a time of new beginning. 

Psalm 30:5 says,

"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5.

COLOR IT

This picture has a lot of possibilities for creativity.  You can color the flowers something colorful, and the vines can be a different green from the leaves. There are paisley designs that can be a different color, and the frame bars can be something else that is brighter.  The letters can be colored with pencils or fine-tipped markers.
