Psalm 23:1 says, The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1.

MY COLORING PICTURE ART

I made this because I was asked to create some coloring pages for a special needs families weekend camp. These needed to be simple and easy for younger people who have different physical challenges. I spent some time drawing it out with a Sharpie marker and a lightbox, but when I scanned it into the computer, it looked bad, so I had to enlarge many things after drawing them. The words were generated by using the computer and some basic artist software. I hope you like it.

I started by drawing parts of this by hand using a marker and pencil, and a lightbox. But it was too hard to get the hearts all even on both sides, so I turned to the computer and used Microsoft paint. It took a few hours, but I finally got it right. The words were generated by using the computer. I hope you like it.

I was asked to create some coloring pictures for a special needs retreat, so this is one of them. It is simple for those white fine finger issues. I started by drawing parts of this by hand using a marker and pencil and an artist lightbox to help me make tracings and to put them all together. But nothing seemed to accommodate the requirements of the request. I ended up designing it with basic draw software. The words were generated by using the computer. I hope you like it.

Children's Printable Bible Activity Bulletin for Church and Outreach

Here is Issue 114 of BIBLE TIME FUN WEEKLY for your family and ministry.

I am grateful and joyful to share this issue with you. It has many beautiful scriptures full of comfort, hope, peace, and even a warning. I make these for my church, and some other churches in my denomination (Baptist) use them. We are using these as a children's bulletin to work on quietly while waiting for worship service to begin. We are also giving them as a take-home paper after our midweek kid's Bible club.

I started by spending three hours looking up verses and finding translations that would be appropriate for children. There are many great verses in this issue, some are old favorites, and a few are ones we rush over. I am excited to think that the Holy Spirit will use these in the hearts of children and families.

I am trying something different on this issue. One of the coloring pictures is a hidden picture puzzle. I have hidden some of the letters of the featured scripture on a jumble of shapes and random letters. I wanted to create an activity like this for some time. I struggled to find a repeatable formula for future issues. I think this will work. Let me know how you like it.

I am happy to share this free printable coloring page with Revelation 3:20, "I stand at the door and knock..." Bible Verse. I created this for my Spanish friends who want to color Bible verses in the Spanish language.

REVELATION 3:20

This print and color page features a verse of invitation that has been used for generations to help people understand the Gospel's invitation. There have been many books and sermons written about the meaning of these words. It is a passage of scripture used to tell people that he is knocking at the door of their hearts and waiting for them to accept him. Jesus is waiting for you to let him in. He brings fellowship and acceptance.

It helps you to memorize the scripture when you color in words to the verse. There is a lot to color as you meditate on God's word. When you color the letters, it helps you to memorize them and to learn the verse.

Revelation 3:20 says,

MY ART

I spent a whole evening creating this picture for you, and then I made more changes for this revision. I designed the border art and used a lightbox and a Sharpie marker to trace it repeatedly to get it right. I used the computer to create the words and printed them out on a page that I traced the border design onto. After scanning it all back into the computer, I used Microsoft Paint to clean things up and add straight lines. It was a lot of work, but I am happy with how it turned out. I hope you can use it.

COLOR THE PICTURE

When you color this picture, it could be beautiful. I suggest using fine-tipped markers or colored pencils, such as my favorite, Prismacolor, so you can get into the smaller areas. (You can find Prismacolor pencils at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and there are coupons online). The letters are big enough to color in. You can do a lot with the designs as you color this picture to create a beautiful masterpiece.

I like to color the background a light hue and the letters a medium-dark hue.
You can color the letters blue or brown or purple; I like to avoid black letters since it is boring.
There are a lot of opportunities to be creative with embellishments around the border.
The hearts can be red, pink, or any color; I like to add a little white in a spot like a glitter of sunlight, and I like to add a little violet around one lower edge like a shadow that makes it look round.
The flowers can be all kinds of colors.
You can try to use two or three greens on the leaves and vines if you're interested.
The frame bars can be a contrasting color, like blue or something different.

If you use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils, this can look beautiful. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor pencils because they are so brilliant and blend nicely. I like to color the background something light and the letters a medium-dark hue. Try filling in the characters with blue or brown or purple; Avoid black since it is boring. Be creative with embellishments around the border. The hearts can be red, or pink, or any color; I like to add a little white in a spot like a glitter of sunlight, and I like to add a little violet around one lower edge like a shadow that makes it look round. The flowers can be all kinds of colors. Try to use more than one hue of green on the leaves and vines for interest. The frame bars can be a contrasting color like blue or something different.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE

I started working on this issue over a week ago. I had lots of interruptions like the dog is barking because it needs a walk, the roof is leaking on my daughter's bed, someone needs a ride to work, and someone else needs a favor. But now that it is finished, I am glad for the work and how it turned out. It contains so many great scriptures, not only popular ones we all love but also some that challenge us.

THE VERSES FOR THE ACTIVITIES IN ISSUE 113

The word searches use Numbers 6:24-27, and the other uses Hebrews 10:24-25.
There is a Psalm 23 verse that is a legacy picture from an issue two years ago.
The crossword puzzle is a verse we do not hear enough of; it is Isaiah 54:10.
The Explorer's Challenge is a mini Bible study. The verse is one of those hard sayings of Jesus- that you cannot serve two masters. Luke 16:13.
The scrambler uses Revelation 3:20. This is a verse that is often used to call to receive Jesus.
Another coloring page is the beautiful scripture of comfort from Psalm 4:8. I put a lot of stars in this one.
The mega maze uses the words of Christ from John 12:16. I love to lift up the Lord and not just illustrate stories, and this scripture tells us in Jesus' own words why he came.
The drop puzzle is another verse from Psalms; Psalm 27:1, another scripture of comfort and peace.
The memory verse craft is from Psalms 119:18. "Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law."

You can see what exciting scriptures are in this edition. Some of these verses challenge us, and others give comfort.

ABOUT MY ART

I spent a few hours on this art. I drew a man running for you to color in. I had to draw him over a few times, and then I used a lightbox to trace it a couple of more times before I felt it was right. He is on the road to the cross, so you can do some creative things with the coloring. There are some rolling hills. You don't have to be limited to the drawing; you can draw the sky behind the letters with a sunset or clouds. I hope you like it.

COLOR THE PICTURE

This picture can be beautiful if you use colored pencils or fine-tipped markers. I prefer Prismacolor pencils because they blend so well and are vibrant. You can add clouds to the sky by leaving areas white. The runner can be very colorful. The cross on the horizon can be in silhouette or the color of the wood. I like to use purple or violet for the distant hills.

I hope your picture is a masterpiece.

ABOUT THIS ISSUE

As I look over this issue, I wonder what marvels God may have for its use! It contains so many great scriptures, not only popular ones we all love but some that challenge us too.

I do not try to set a theme. Instead, I try to select scriptures with different topics because I hope if one is not in accord with what the Spirit says to someone, another will be. Though I spend between one and three hours selecting the scriptures, I prayerfully seek the Lord's direction about the final choices.

When you look over the activity booklet, you will notice that I select from different translations. I look for a translation for each verse that is not confusing and does not use "churchy words" or complex grown-up language.

I could get excited about my artwork, cleaver puzzles, or the masterful layout of the bulletin, but what is most exciting to me is presenting the Word of God.

Most of the scriptures are accompanied by an open-ended "Let's talk about it" question. I hope that these questions will allow teachers or parents to have meaningful conversations with children.

It took several attempts and more hours to get some of the puzzles to work correctly. Still, I am glad that I took the time because they have a balance of complexity and fun. Some of the puzzles are for older youth, and some are for younger. Everybody will find something that they enjoy in this issue.

I am glad to share my free print and color page for the Bible verse, Ephesians 6:11 in Spanish.

People have been inspired by this scripture for generations. This is a verse that is both encouraging and a command from Paul's Letter to the Ephesians. It is the beginning of the Armor of Faith Passage. It says we are to put on the whole armor and not to favor one element over another. It teaches us that we are to stand against the evil one. It does not say run or fight or bargain but to stand. We only need to stand because God does the fighting and has already won. We stand so we can witness the victory of the Lord. It is like the "be still and know I am God".
